This is the third installment of the Bartimaeus trilogy. The series started of well with the First book “Amulet of Samarkhand” by Jonathan Stroud. The highlight is the footnotes which I loved in all the three books. But, the second book “Eye of the Gollum” was much disappointing than the first. So, I was kind of in dilemma on how the author would complete the trilogy. He is a great author, no doubt, but the moderate second book had my hopes somewhat low. But, he proved me wrong and his third book “Ptolemy’s Gate” is the best in the series and it was a triumphant conclusion to the trilogy. He had everything right. The narrative was good, the plot good and the part I liked was that there was a lot of humour in the book in addition to the footnotes which convey Bartimaeus humorous thinking. Overall, I would give it a 4/5 for this book and again a 4/5 for the whole trilogy.
Verdict : A Good, humorous read for a fantasy lover
